Simple Honey Nut & Seed Clusters
( this recipe is a game changer to help those senior leg cramp moments and if nothing else to build up your bone-muscle)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- ½ cup raw sunflower seeds
- ½ cup raw pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
- ¼ cup raw honey (or slightly more if needed)
- Optional: Pinch of sea salt or cinnamon for added flavor
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Toast (optional):
Lightly toast the almonds, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds in a dry skillet over
medium heat for 3–5 minutes to bring out their flavor. Let them cool slightly. - Mix together:
In a bowl, combine all the nuts and seeds. Drizzle in the honey and stir well to coat
everything evenly. The mixture should be sticky but not runny. - Scoop into clusters:
Using a tablespoon or small cookie scoop, place small mounds of the mixture onto the
lined baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart. - Press and shape:
With the back of the spoon or damp fingers, gently press the clusters together so they
hold shape better once baked. - Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden around the edges. Keep a close eye to prevent
burning. - Cool completely on the pan. They will harden as they cool.
Storage Tip:
Store in an airtight jar or tin at room temperature for up to a week (or in the fridge if it’s hot).
Creative Kitchen Use:
Pair these clusters with tea, crumble on top of yogurt or smoothies, or serve on a small plate with
dried fruit for a beautiful snack offering during your Heart & Soul Club gatherings.
