Maria’s Apple Pie
In this video you will see the importance of adding Tapioca as a gluten free filler and a high quality protein powder to make your Holiday pie tasty and yummy without lots of added calories!
INGREDIENTS
- 8 medium green granny apples
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice ( organic )
- ¼ cup of earth balance butter
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp pie spice
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- ½ cup brown sugar organic raw
- ¼ cup water
- 2 tsp tapioca flour
- 1 tsp Isalean vanilla or Chai protein shake flavor
OPTION – ADD some walnuts OR raisins in your last step
PREPARATION
1. PREP apples
Peel, core and slice.
Drizzle lemon juice over them as you place in bowl.
2. Melt butter and spices in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add apples, brown sugar, water and stir well.
Cover skillet and cook for 5 minutes until apples soften.
3. In small bowl mix tapioca flour and ISAlean protein shake powder with 2 tablespoons of water.
4. Once mixed add to skillet and stir.
5. Cover & cook for another 2 minutes.
6. Cool and store in jars.
Can be used to make a 9 inch pie.
OR eat as is with whip cream or served hot with ice cream
